Paths for All recently organised a
ministerial visit at Kennoway in Fife during which the Public Health and Sport Minister, Shona Robison MSP, took a walk with them along a path between Kennoway and Methil. At one of the stops along the way the Minister was able to present Bums Off Seats with their Investing in Volunteers Award.
The overall purpose of the walk and the Minister's visit to Paths for All was to showcase the national work of Paths for All as the national charity promoting walking for health and the development of multi-use path networks as well as to highlight the successes of some of thier local partners. Paths for All's very first community grant to a local walking for health group was to Bums Off Seats in 2002 and since then they have gone from strength to strength, training more than a 170 volunteers to lead local people on regular health walks and making positive steps towards better health and tackling physical inactivity in Fife.
