The Volunteer Friendly Award is a quality standard designed to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at involving volunteers. In achieving this award, Furniture Plus has demonstrated its commitment to best practice in volunteer management.
Furniture Plus’ mission is to help furnish the people of Fife by providing low cost, quality goods and furnishings to low income households in Fife, thereby alleviating furniture poverty. They also aim to provide employment and training opportunities to strive to alleviate social exclusion. Volunteering is at the heart of these goals and the charity has involved volunteers in exciting and varied opportunities:
“Volunteering is at the heart of everything we do here at Furniture Plus and we are very proud to be the first in Fife to achieve this award. We have had great support from all the guys at the Volunteer Centre and I know this will continue into the future” – Dan Rous.
